 First batch preliminary application for Ph.D. degree Examination (2024 Spring)

Date: From March 11 to March 22, 2024 (during office hours. Late submission will not be accepted)

 

 Second batch preliminary application for Ph.D. degree Examination (2024 Spring)

Date: From May 6 to May 17, 2024 (during office hours. Late submission will not be accepted)

 

Target applicants: (1) This application is mainly for Ph.D. students who are eligible for preliminary application for Ph.D. degree Examination, but their papers are not published in journals and conferences listed in the "Recommended journals and conferences for publishing Ph.D. results." (2) Ph.D. students who are eligible for preliminary application for Ph.D. degree Examination and have papers published in journals and conferences listed in the "Recommended journals and conferences for publishing Ph.D. results" can file an application as well and will be examined with target applicants (1) mentioned above.

Application form: please ask the department office for a soft copy of the application form through email eeoffice@my.nthu.edu.tw.  Please title the email with following information:  Student ID No. / Name/ Application form for preliminary application for Ph.D. degree Examination.

Required application documents

1. C.V or Resume (including the list of writings)

2. Approved application form for Ph.D. Degree Committee

3. Certificate of passing qualification exam. (Attach a copy of the Qualifying Examinations Results)

4. Published papers (note SCI, impact factor)

5. Official transcripts proving that the course requirements have been fulfilled. (Attach the Graduation Credits Confirmation Form for the MS student and Ph.D student of EE NTHU)

6. Certificate of passing test on first foreign language ability. (Attach a copy of the First Foreign Language Standards Application Form)

7. Originality of the Ph.D thesis (described within three pages)

Instruction about required application materials:

1. If the published papers that students mainly submit for review are not listed on the "Recommended journals and conferences for publishing Ph.D. results" of the department, in accordance with regulations, they must provide additional notarization and objective supporting information of the paper for the reference of the committee members.

2. For accepted papers that have not been published, please provide the original formal acceptance letter.

Please fill out the application forms. After completing the application forms with the signature of your advisor, scan and convert it together with the required application documents into a PDF file, and send it to the department office email (eeoffice@my. nthu.edu.tw).

The Department office will to check if the documents need revision or supplementary.
