Professors of the Department of Electrical Engineering of National Tsing Hua University have done such an outstanding research performance. In the list of outstanding research awards announced by the Ministry of Science and Technology in May 2021, a total of 80 scholars and experts from across the country won the awards. The Department of Electrical Engineering of National Tsing Hua University won 4 awards and ranked first among all university departments.

Liou Jing-Jia, the director of the Department of Electrical Engineering at National Tsing Hua University, said that among the winners, there are many professors who have long-term cooperation with TSMC, such as Chang Meng-Fan and Chiu Po-Wen, both of which are members of the NTHU-TSMC Research Center.

Chang Meng-Fan is currently the director of TSMC. He has devoted himself to semiconductor technology research and development. He has also won 16 US patents. His research team has also set a record for the most papers published in the memory circuit area of the International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC) in the past three years.

Wang Chin-Liang has published more than 70 international journal papers and more than 180 international conference papers, most of which are published in important journals of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). In addition to research and publication, he is also at the forefront of the industry.

Chiu Po-Wen, who is also the director of the Center for Nanotechnology, Materials Science, and Microsystems in NTHU, has put forward numerous innovative research in the field of semiconductor physics. Chi Chong-Yung has published more than 200 technical papers and 2 books, with fruitful academic achievements.
