1. The rules were made under "the Code of Ph. D. Degree Examination" of the NTHU.”

2. The qualification exam is held in the form of “Taking Courses.” Students are regarded as qualified Ph. D candidates if all 3 courses he or she chose are satisfied with the rule 3. Available courses of each group are listed in rules 3.

3The grade of the Ph.D student has to be higher than A (including A) or rank within the top 30% in the class, with no less than four students taking the course. Students who intend to be qualified by taking courses will have not only to provide "Course Transcript", but also to follow the rules made by individual groups.

Power Engineering Group

Ph.D. students in the Power Engineering Group are required to take and mark two of the following courses to the required standard:

Power Engineering ProgramEE585000 Switching Mode Power Converters, EE571000 Advanced Electric Network Analysis, EE 581000 Solid-State Electric Machine Control, EE 581500 Solid-State Power Conversion, EE 582000 Advanced Electric Machinery Theory

For the last course, Ph.D. students in the Power Engineering Group can choose any course that are recognized by the department as an option to fulfill qualification requirement. The terms above apply to all Ph.D students in the group.
