Regulations on transferring to other departments(groups) for postgraduate students

 

The regulations were approved by the Postgraduate Education Committee of the Department of Electrical Engineering on March 3rd, 2000.

Revised and approved in June 6, 2006.

 

1The Department of Electrical Engineering (abbreviated as the department in the following) makes the regulations under rules 58, chapter 4, volume 3 of the Code of Educational Administration of the National Tsing-Hua University.

2. Postgraduate students intending to transfer from another department are required to submit the following documents to the Office of Academic Affairs before the application deadline.

  1. An agreement letter from the Chairman of the department the applicant originally belongs to.;
  2. Official transcript and rank certificate for the student's first-year postgraduate study;
  3. Transcript of the entrance exam held for the applicant's original postgraduate program;
  4. Master students are required to submit official transcripts and rank certificate of their undergraduate study; Ph.D. students are required to submit official transcripts and rank certificate of their undergraduate and Master study;
  5. A research proposal (with the reason for transferring described).

3Postgraduate students intending to transfer to another research group are required to submit the following documents to the department before the application deadline.

  1. An agreement letter from the Chairman of the department the applicant originally belongs to.;
  2. Official transcript and rank certificate for the student's first-year postgraduate study;
  3. Transcript of the entrance exam held for the applicant's original postgraduate program;
  4. Master students are required to submit official transcripts and rank certificate of their undergraduate study; Ph.D. students are required to submit official transcripts and rank certificate of their undergraduate and Master study;
  5. A research proposal (with the reason for transferring described).

4The admission is decided by the Postgraduate Education Committee of the department.  The reviewing process will be based on submitted application documents, as well as on interviewing or oral-exam results if held. For the case that an oral exam is held, the scores for oral exam will constitute 40% of the total scores and that for application documents will constitute 60% of the total scores.

5Any amendment to the program above must be approved by the Postgraduate Education Committee of the department before its implementation.
